RIFT VALLEY CAMPING

A camping safari, taking you west across the Great Rift Valley, to spend several nights in the magic Masai Mara, famous for its high concentration of wild animals, spice it up with walking safari adventures and meetings with the local Maasai travel back north east to enjoy the unique Crater Lake created by the implosion of a volcano, in the Great Rift Valley.

Duration of the safari is 7 days.

Day itinerary as follows:

Day 1:

You will be met on arrival by our representative. Transfer to a city Hotel for an overnight BB

Day 2:

Departure by road to Masai Mara afterbrakfast, game drives on route through the reserve, arrive at camp site for a late lunch, and enjoy an afternoon game drive along the meandering Talek River or on the vast plains of the Mara. Return to camp site before dark, time to chill out, listen to the sounds of Africa… Dinner and overnight Masai Mara

Day 3:

Breakfast, full day game drives in the Masai Mara, watch the hippos, and drive through herds of buffaloes, or look out or some of the big cats to show their presence and power…

Day 4:

Have your breakfast; take a morning game drive .Back to the Camp for breakfast. In the afternoon meet the Maasai guides and get prepared for a true bush adventure. Experience another dimension of being on safari! Walking the savannah gives you a stronger feeling of being present, of being in your spirits.

Hunt for elephants and giraffes, with your camera. Feel the strong scent of the cocktail ant, spot a Martial eagle, follow tracks of lions and hyenas, and embrace the vibrating savannah together with the Maasai. Sit around the campfire, chat with the Maasai and enjoy the moment…

Another full day of flexible game viewing drive

Day 6:

Early breakfast and departure from Masai Mara, heading for the Great Rift Valley and the beautiful Crater Lake, arrive late afternoon, take a walk around the lake, dinner & overnight at camp site, Crater Lake

Day 7:

Breakfast and drive through the valleys of Naivasha, part of the Great Rift, arrive to Nairobi late afternoon for connecting flights or an overnight.

Most camp sites have toilets and washing facilities.Private cook.

Payments: most lodges take US dollars, Kenyan or Tanzanian shillings or cards. For your own personal shopping good to have the local currency though

Personal equipment: good trekking shoes, a pair of shorts, long trousers and sweater for the evening, extra pair of socks, sun hat, sun lotion, sun glasses, binoculars, torch and a fleece sweater for chilly nights.
