Sangare Lakeside Tented Camp – Aberdare National Park, Kenya
Sangare Lakeside Tented Camp; Sangare Tented Camp is located approximately 166 km north of Nairobi, 27 km from Nyeri town and 50 km from Nanyuki on Sangare Ranch, a 6,500 acre property at an altitude of 2000 meter in the foothills of the Aberdares National Park. Sangare Tented Camp has spectacular views of Mount Kenya.
Sangare Tented Camp guests are accommodated in six en-suite permanent tented rooms overlooking a small lake encircled by tall yellow fever acacia trees where elephant and buffalo are regular visitors.
A separate cottage contains a sitting room and kitchen with a verandah overlooking the lake shore. Leopard, hyena, Colobus and Sykes monkeys, and all the common plains game species, such as zebra, gazelle, giraffe, eland and buffalo are present in good number.

The Ark Lodge – Aberdare National Park, Kenya
The Ark Tree Lodge is located in the heart of the Aberdare National Park, 16 kilometers (10 miles) from the Mweiga airfield or 12 kilometers North of Nyeri (about an hour’s drive).
The Aberdare country club is the base hotel and is approximately a 45 minute trip by road. The Ark is a unique tree lodge that overlooks a floodlit waterhole and a saltlick which attracts a host of wildlife.
Elephant, Rhino, Leopard, Bushbuck and occasionally an elusive Bongo and giant forest Hog has been sighted. The Ark is shaped to resemble the actual Noah’s Ark.
It is designed with decks from which numerous balconies and lounges provide superb vantage points for viewing the animals visiting the salt-lick and waterhole. A ‘Resident Hunter’ is always on hand to educate on the wildlife and landscape.
The Ark Tree Lodge has 60 guest rooms all en-suite. 9 of these are triple-bedded State Cabins; there are 45 Twin/Double-bedded State Cabins, 5 single-bedded State Cabins and 1 single-bedded courier cabin which is not en-suite.
All cabins have bedside lamps and carpeted floors to ward off the evening and morning chill, small luggage racks and views of the forest or waterhole revealing game in the proximity. Cabins are provided with water flasks and glasses, hot water bottles and extra blankets.
The Ark Tree Lodge has a ground-level bunker that’s provides excellent photographic opportunities, and the Yasabara waterhole is floodlit by night to enable all-night viewing of game.
To enable guests to continue watching late into the night, the waterhole is floodlit from 1800 hours to dawn. Spare blankets are available for guests’ use in the lounges.
Children under the age of 7 are not permitted at the Ark unless on special “Children’s nights”. Photographic flashlights are not permitted as some animals are startled by flashlights and will be scared away at once.

Treetops Hotel – Aberdare National Park, Kenya
Treetops Tree Hotel/Lodge is nestled deep in the forest of Aberdare National Park about 17 Kilometers from the Outspan Hotel about 180 kilometers from Nairobi.
Treetops Lodge lies in the path of an ancient Elephant migratory route between the Aberdare Mountains and Mt. Kenya National Park, and is strategically sited right in front of a watering hole and salt lick.
Guests can drink in the sight of Elephants, Buffalos, Rhinos and more from the safety of four viewing decks and a rooftop platform. Shutterbugs can take close shots from two photographic hides at ground level.
Treetops Lodge animal lovers need not worry about missed sightings, even into the early hours of the morning. An optional buzzer in the rooms alerts the guests when a spectacle is unfolding at the waterhole. Game drives and a lecture about Treetops lodge are also available to the guests.
Treetops Lodge is built on stilts. Trees grow right through the building. There are 48 cozy rooms and two suites, a lounge overlooking the waterhole and two bars.
There is also a restaurant where dinner is served on charming old world refectory tables with bench seating .Guests are advised to bring warm clothing as nights can get chilly at this lodge, which is 6,450m above sea level.
