Horse Riding Safari Holiday’s in Kenya – Chyulu Hills – Southern Kenya

There are two options for participation with Ride Kenya. Join half-day or full-day rides from Ol Donyo Wuas Lodge. This is available to guests at the lodge as one of a number of activities. Join a multi-day luxury mobile horse safari.

Ol Donyo Wuas Lodge Rides

Horseback riding is an unforgettable experience for lodge guests as well. It can be enjoyed either early in the morning, or at sunset. Most of these rides last about two hours; however, this can be adjusted according to guest needs.

For experienced riders, full-day rides are also available. For lodge-based rides, we will encourage any standard of rider, from a novice child to an advanced adult.

Multi-day Mobile Horse Safaris

Ride Kenya mobile safaris are reminiscent of the safaris of old. While horse and rider are enjoying safari, the luxury camp is moved ahead to the next destination.

Kitani Safari Bandas/Camp – Tsavo West National Park

Kitani bandas Tsavo are probably the first solid structures in Tsavo West as it was originally built in 1954. The Banda’s now affiliated to the nearby Severin Safari Camp where you can have meals if you are not keen on self catering.

At Kitani Tsavo Bandas, each cottage can accommodate a maximum of 4 people and have private bathroom facilities with WC, toilet and showers. The beds all have mosquito nets. There is running hot and cold water and power is generated from the nearby generator.

The bandas are located in the Tsavo West National Park, just 49 km’s from the Mtito Andei gate, 5 km’s from Mzima Springs and 2 km’s from the Poachers Lookout. On a clear day, the Bandas have a majestic view of Mt Kilimanjaro.

Kitani bandas are easily acceesible there by road, private charter or plane to Kilaguni Airstrip – a good stopover to or from the coast. National Park fees are payable and entry is by ‘smart card’. Activities include: Game drives, bird watching, relaxation.

Optional Extras Accommodation for drivers and ayahs available on request. Dining at Severin Safari camp nearby. Each self catering Banda has a private view of the park and Mt. Kilimanjaro.
